Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Ally Robertson believes that a draw against Leeds United on Friday night would be a fantastic result for the Baggies.
West Brom recovered from setbacks against Blackburn Rovers in their opening Championship game of the season and Stoke City in the EFL Cup to win their first league game against Swansea City last Saturday, winning 3-2.
In the Championship, Carlos Corberan‘s side will now face Leeds at Elland Road on Friday evening.
West Brom’s game against Leeds will be difficult, according to Robertson, and anything other than defeat would be a terrific result for the Baggies.
He believes that if West Brom can basically reproduce their performance from the previous game, they will be close to attaining the desired result.
“We have a difficult game against Leeds on Friday, but if we can go and repeat our first 70 minutes, I believe we won’t be far away,” Robertson wrote in his Express & Star column.
“It would be fantastic if we could go to Elland Road under the lights and avoid defeat.”
“It would be absolutely fantastic if we could go there and beat Carlos’ old team.”
“On the night, it will come down to who can defend better as a unit and who will take their chances.”
It remains to be seen whether West Brom can get their second league win of the season against the Whites, who are coming off a loss to Birmingham City.
