Joel Piroe, a target for Leeds United, is now very certain to stay at Swansea City unless anything ‘dramatically’ changes before the end of the transfer season.
According to Wales Online, Piroe‘s representation are unhappy with the terms of a sale given by Swansea this summer, and as a result, he is unlikely to move.
Piroe and his agent are alleged to have discussed the conditions of a summer sale with former CEO Julian Winter as early as January.
However, following Winter‘s departure from South Wales, the agreement with Piroe‘s Swans representatives was cancelled, making a departure difficult.
Leeds United, Leicester City, Sheffield United, and Atalanta have all been connected with the 23-year-old this summer, but will almost certainly have to move on.
Leeds TARGET Piroe to stay at Swansea City.
In reality, a deal for Piroe has appeared tricky throughout the window, with Swansea requesting £15 million, according to the Daily Mail.
While Atalanta and Leicester appear to have cooled their interest, it has not made a deal any simpler, and therefore chatter has died down in recent weeks.
Piroe has less than a year left on his Swans contract and has already rejected a new deal, though talks have continued since then.
Leeds are still looking for a striker before the deadline next Friday, and Aston Villa‘s Cameron Archer is said to be an option.
However, that appears to be a costly contract, therefore it remains to be seen which path Leeds will choose.
