LEEDS UNITED NOW WANT TO SIGN £19M TOTTENHAM PLAYER: REPORTER

Tottenham Hotspur defender Bristol City, Swansea City, and Leeds United are all interested in Djed Spence ahead of the transfer deadline.

Djed Spence is available this summer, with Tottenham Hotspur willing to let him go. According to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs, who spoke with Last Word on Spurs. Tottenham paid £19 million to sign Spence from Middlesbrough just over a year ago.

Spence shone while on loan at Nottingham Forest, assisting the club’s progress to the Premier League. Spurs saw a lot of potential in Spence and chose to bring him to North London, but the deal hasn’t worked out.

Spence appeared in just five minutes of Premier League football for Spurs before joining Rennes on loan for the remainder of the season.

Ange Postecoglou does not want the 23-year-old, but finding someone to buy him is proving difficult.

According to Jacobs, most of the interest in Spence right now revolves around loan deals, even though Tottenham would gladly sell.

Jacobs adds that Strasbourg, a French club, may be interested in signing Spence and are now considering a move.

Three Championship clubs have also expressed interest in signing Spence, with Leeds United joining Bristol City and Swansea City in the competition.

“To date, the only interest in his services has been for loans, and I believe he would need to drop down to the Championship as well,” Jacobs remarked. “There might be some late interest from other Ligue 1 clubs, and I would keep an eye on Strasbourg, who are now controlled by BlueCo, the owners of Chelsea.”

“Keep an eye on it, but again, it’s only being discussed internally at Strasbourg right now; they haven’t moved.” “My understanding is that the Championship enquiries are for loans, and there are three clubs that I would keep an eye on over the next week if Tottenham decide to loan and Spence decides to drop down, and those three clubs are Swansea City, Bristol City, and Leeds United,” he added.

Djed Spence might be Leeds United’s replacement for Max Aarons.

Leeds‘ right back situation has been peculiar.

Rasmus Kristensen has joined Roma, while Cody Drameh has returned to Elland Road following a loan spell at Luton Town.

Luke Ayling remains at the club, and Sam Byram has been given a contract following a trial period during the summer.

Leeds was still looking for a right back and had a deal in place for Max Aarons early this month.

Norwich City agreed to a deal of up to £12 million as Daniel Farke sought a reunion with his former Canaries star.

However, the deal was derailed at the last minute when Bournemouth rushed in and lured Aarons to the South Coast.

Leeds may be seeking for another right back, and Spence would certainly fit the bill.

Spence has previously succeeded in the Championship and can offer great attacking ability on the right side.

This may rely on Drameh‘s departure from Leeds in the coming days, but the Whites appear to be a possible destination for Spence, whose Spurs career is in shambles.
