Troy Parrott has been officially signed by Excelsior on a temporary loan from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Eredivisie club has welcomed the 21-year-old striker in pursuit of more consistent first-team game time. Parrott has previously had loan stints with teams like Millwall, Ipswich, MK Dons, and Preston North End in the Championship and League One.Troy Parrott scored four goals in 34 games last season for Preston, who finished 12th in the Championship. The previous season, the 20-time Republic of Ireland international spent time on loan with MK Dons, where he made 43 League One appearances and scored nine goals.
Parrott progressed up the ranks in Tottenham’s youth programme. He only made four senior appearances for the North London club before moving abroad to play first-team football on a regular basis. The Dublin-born striker will work for Excelsior under manager Marinus Dijkhuizen, who led the team to Eredivisie safety the previous year. The team is now hopeful that Troy Parrott can help them move up the league standings. Excelsior will play Fortuna Sittard at home on Friday night in an attempt to keep their perfect record intact.
