According to talkSPORT, Tottenham ace James Maddison has recommended Leicester left-back Luke Thomas to Leeds manager Daniel Farke.
The 22-year-old has fallen out of favour at the King Power Stadium and is poised to leave before Friday’s transfer deadline.
Thomas has yet to make an appearance for Enzo Maresca‘s Foxes.
Thomas is eager to play first-team football, as talkSPORT revealed last Monday.
Despite winning the Under-21 European Championship with England in the summer, he is yet to play for Leicester under Enzo Maresca.
Callum Doyle and James Justin appear to be ahead of Thomas in the Leicester left-back pecking order.
Maddison, who left relegated Leicester to join Tottenham in June, is familiar with Farke from his time at Norwich.
Leicester is likely to prefer a permanent agreement for Thomas, who has a year left on his present contract, after Maddison and Thomas were unable to keep the club from relegation last season.
Since making his debut for the Foxes under Brendan Rodgers in July 2020, the England Under-21 international has made 85 appearances.
Leeds is anxious to sign a left-back before the transfer window closes, as current first-choice Junior Firpo is out with a ligament injury.
Leo Hjelde had been filling in for that position before summer signing Sam Byram took over.
However, Byram suffered an adductor injury in the weekend’s thrilling 4-3 triumph against Ipswich, forcing him off in the first half.
As a result, he will not be available to face Salford in the Carabao Cup second round on Tuesday evening.
Leeds is now looking for a ready-made replacement, with Thomas at the top of the list.
Danish defender Victor Kristiansen is also expected to depart the King Power Stadium before the deadline on Friday, according to talkSPORT.
