Andrew Omobamidele, a Republic of Ireland international, has been acquired by Nottingham Forest from Norwich City.
The defender’s five-year contract guarantees that he will remain at The City Ground through at least the summer of 2028.
Omobamidele, one of the EFL’s most promising young players, joined Norwich from Leixlip United in 2019 and quickly rose through the ranks.
In January 2021, the same year Norwich won the league championship under Daniel Farke, the 21-year-old made his professional debut in the Sky Bet Championship.
The following season, Omobamidele made five appearances in the Premier League and scored his first goal in the top flight against Leeds United in October 2021.
The central defender played five more times for his nation after making his full debut for the Republic of Ireland in September 2021.
Ross Wilson, the Chief Football Officer for Forest, stated: “Andrew has drawn significant attention since his debut at Norwich City, having already played in the Premier League, Championship, and on the international stage.
He is currently one of the most exciting young defenders in the nation, and we are thrilled to have him join the team.
