Liam Cooper offers a three-word message to Illan Meslier following Leeds United’s 3-0 win over Millwall.

Liam Cooper sent a three-word message to Illan Meslier after Leeds United defeated Millwall 3-0 on Sunday (17 September).

The Whites won the Championship clash at The Den, their second victory of the new league season.

Centre-back Cooper was absent due to a foot injury, but goalkeeper Meslier played the entire match and kept a clean sheet.

Celebrating the victory on social media, Meslier posted on Instagram: “Big win today against Millwall! Congratulations to the team.”

And among those commenting on the post was the goalkeeper’s Leeds teammate Cooper, who wrote: “Different class mate!”

A Huge Victory

It was a big win for Leeds, and it was a big performance from Meslier, who has now maintained back-to-back clean sheets.

Earlier this month, the shot-stopper kept a clean sheet in his club’s goalless draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

His performances in goal have enabled Daniel Farke‘s team extend their unbeaten league run to four games, with the Whites first drawing with West Brom and then overcoming Ipswich Town.

The goals will be welcomed by the manager, but so will the clean sheets, especially after the West Yorkshire club conceded seven times in their opening four games of the season.

Attackers Georginio Rutter and Joel Piroe have unsurprisingly stolen the headlines for their final-third contributions in the win against Millwall, but Meslier also impressed to keep the home side at bay at The Den.

The Whites will now look to continue their fine run when they travel to Hull City on Wednesday (20 September), once again in league action.
