Tottenham player has ‘made clear his desire’ to leave in January

According to Fichajes, Giovani Lo Celso has already decided to leave Tottenham in the January transfer window.

Despite being linked with a move away from Tottenham until transfer deadline day, Lo Celso remained with the North London club, with Ange Postecoglou reportedly assuring the player’s camp that he will have a part at the club this season (Express).

The Argentine has only played once this season, in the Carabao Cup second round against Fulham last month, but he has missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury.

We relayed a rumour from AS a few days ago that indicated Real Betis were prepared to make another try to capture Lo Celso after failing with a move for him in the summer.

Lo Celso wants to join Real Betis in January

This story has now been backed up by Fichajes, who claims that Betis is ‘attentive’ to the Tottenham player’s condition ahead of the January transfer window.

According to the report, the midfielder has’made clear his desire’ to quit Tottenham in January and return to the Benito Villamarin Stadium.

Despite receiving offers from other clubs, Lo Celso is said to have expressed a strong desire to join Manuel Pellegrini’s team.

I’m doubtful of this story because Lo Celso hasn’t been available for selection in recent games and hence has no reason to be concerned about his lack of playing time. Having said that, I don’t anticipate him to get many minutes in the coming months, especially with Brennan Johnson’s arrival.
