Brentford manager Thomas Frank has lauded Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper ahead of tomorrow’s match at the City Ground.
The Bees manager was speaking at his pre-match press conference yesterday, with the Dane full of admiration for the Reds and their manager.
Last season, the Reds drew 2-2 at the City Ground with to a 96th-minute equalizer from Ivan Toney, before falling 2-1 at the Gtech Community Stadium thanks to late goals from Ivan Toney and Josh Dasilva.
The two have a history of clashing. During Frank’s time at Swansea City, they met in the Championship, with Frank defeating Cooper in the play-off final.
“In terms of offensive and defensive organization, Steve Cooper knows what he’s doing.”
“He’s very good at these things.”
“Every team learns and tries to improve from year to year.” They are learning more and more about who their go-to team is.
“They look stronger than last year.”
Profiting from Brentford’s recent injury concerns
Brentford are currently without seven first-team players due to injury or suspension.
Toney, Ben Mee, Kevin Schade, and Rico Henry are all out until the new year at the earliest, with the Bees unable to match the heights they reached last season.
Cooper’s squad is eager to inflict further agony on the Dane and his men this weekend, as Frank’s side presently has only one win in the league.
