Leicester City’s injury news and return dates for the Stoke match include Tom Cannon and Jannik Vestergaard.

Enzo Maresca provides an update on the fitness of his squad ahead of Leicester City’s Championship match against Stoke at the King Power Stadium.

Tom Cannon is still a long way from making his Leicester City debut as he recovers from a back injury.

The striker, who joined City on deadline day for £7.5 million from Everton, has yet to play for the club after a stress fracture in his back was discovered during his medical. While he was seen working out at the gym this week, he is nowhere close to making a comeback

“It’s still the same process,” Enzo Maresca, the club’s manager, said of the 20-year-old striker during a press conference on Friday. “He’s a long way from joining us. He’ll keep going.”

Dennis Praet has the same issue as Cannon, and it was identified about the same time. He is expected to return in November, which means the striker will be able to return to full training sometime next month as well.Maresca has no new injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s Championship meeting with Stoke, so Cannon and Praet are among four absentees. Kasey McAteer (hamstring) is also expected to return next month, while Callum Doyle (knee) is expected to be sidelined until the new year. Jannik Vestergaard returns to the lineup on Saturday after serving a one-game suspension.

However, Maresca hinted at a rotation for the game. He made a substantial number of changes for the previous two Wednesday games, at Norwich and Liverpool, but did not do so for the match against Preston this week, which means some of his players may need to be rested this weekend.

“For the players, we did some rotation in the past,” Maresca explained. “We’ll see what happens tomorrow.” They deserve to play again because of the way they work.”
