Tottenham are missing several key players, but the international break allows manager Ange Postecoglou to rest his players.
Tottenham, which soared to the top of the Premier League standings after the first two months, has a number of key players seeking to return from injury after the international break.
The start to the season has been fantastic under Ange Postecoglou, with a huge improvement in both performances and results quickly lifting the morale at the club.
They have suffered some setbacks along the way, beginning with the departure of Harry Kane, which was followed by a serious injury to Ivan Perisic and, later, Manor Solomon.
Summer acquisition Brennan Johnson suffered an injury in his first game for the club against Arsenal and missed the victories over Liverpool and Luton Town. He has, however, remained at Hotspur Way in Enfield in order to be fit for the game against Fulham.
The layoff has also given Bryan Gil ample time to sharpen his skills, as he might benefit from Manor Solomon’s injury, with manager Ange Postecoglou confirming his interest.
“He’s been a bit unfortunate in that, pretty much since the start of pre-season, he’s had a couple of injuries that haven’t allowed him to train with the team,” Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino told reporters. He had a good year away from here last year, and he plays in a position where individuals with his abilities can fit into our scheme.
“It’ll be good to see Bryan getting up to speed over the next couple of weeks, training with the team and then, obviously with Ivan going down, we’re one down in those wide areas so having him at the club is certainly beneficial.”
