Tottenham Hotspur fans have lots to cheer about at present. Since Ange Postecoglou grabbed the Spurs reins, the team has quickly gone up many levels.
Tottenham were in grave difficulties at the close of last season. They had no manager, no football director, and no European football to look forward to.
Indeed, Spurs’ hiring of Postecoglou was not unanimously appreciated. However, he has swiftly won over the whole fandom – as well as many neutrals.
The new Tottenham manager has performed some masterstrokes. His transfer business was excellent, particularly his acquisition of James Maddison.
Then there’s Guglielmo Vicario, a custodian who arrived to mixed reviews but immediately won over the fans.Spurs are doing so well that it’s easy to forget they sold their top scorer and talisman this summer.
When Tottenham parted ways with Harry Kane, there was concern that the club’s firepower would be drastically weakened.This, however, has not been the case. Moving Son Heung-min to No. 9 was another brilliant move.
‘He’s not put a foot wrong yet’
Since being switched to the central striker position, the 31-year-old has scored six goals in four Premier League games.
Darren Bent welcomed Postecoglou’s decision to shift Son to the centre of the field earlier this week on talkSPORT.
“Son down the middle looks like a masterstroke,” Benjamin added. “Listen he’s not put a foot wrong yet, Postecoglou.”
The South Korean international has stood up to the plate as both the line-leader and captain.Spurs’ position at the top of the Premier League standings is the payoff for all of their hard work thus far.
Tottenham fans should, and no doubt will, be ecstatic with how nicely things have gone for them thus far.Obviously, it’s still early in the season, but the fundamentals are in place, and the Spurs are on the right route.
