“Say things as we see them” – Pundit demonstrates how the level of a Brighton player is not at all what it once was.

Ansu Fati of Brighton and Hove Albion isn’t performing at his previous level, so Spain aren’t doing him any favours by including him in their current squads.

According to journalist Bruno Alemany, who opposed the choice of the Brighton guy, this is the case.

Currently a member of the Spain team for this international break, Fati played for 45 minutes in the 1-0 victory over Norway on Sunday.

Despite the victory, Fati struggled to make an impact, making it five games for his country without a goal or an assist—his most recent outing came in the 3-1 victory over Jordan in November of last year.

He also found himself out of the picture at Barcelona and was subsequently loaned to Brighton in the hopes of getting back on track this season. It has been a challenging year for him for club and country.

He has only so far played a little role under Roberto De Zerbi as the Italian tries to bring the striker up to speed, so that hasn’t actually happened.
Alemany thinks it is a big error that the Brighton player was called up for this international break because it was unexpected.

He remarked, “I feel like calling him to the national team is not doing him any favours.”

“Luis Enrique did him no favours by promoting him to the World Cup roster when he was not yet prepared to travel to a World Cup.

“Luis Fuente hasn’t been calling him up lately, declaring in a news conference that he sees him as a cannon, and other such things, because when we get to the games, that’s not what we see.

“He used to play football with a lot of heart and was a goal scorer. Now, the first thing he does after receiving the ball is to make sure everything is under control.

“It’s unfortunate since he is not even close to the standard. I adore him, but we have to speak the truth with love, so that’s how I view it.
