Steve Cooper, the head coach of Nottingham Forest, is now being considered to succeed Gareth Southgate as manager of England.
Several well-known managers are in the running, including the head coach of the Reds.
It appears likely that Southgate will leave England following the Euro 2024 competition in the summer of 2024. The person chosen for the next major appointment must be able to bring out the best in a talented team.
Hopefully, Forest won’t have to deal with the FA anytime soon. The Reds are a team that is growing, and it will be fascinating to see how far the group can progress under Cooper’s leadership.
England is keeping an eye on Forest head coach Cooper
Maybe this isn’t that shocking. With the Forest man winning the World Cup, Cooper is one guy who knows how to win a tournament with an international team, although at the Under-17 level.
Cooper had a very good record in the under-17 division. Before leaving the team in 2019 to take a position at Swansea, he guided them to 45 victories in 66 games.
Now, 90Min claims that England has the Forest man squarely in its sights. He isn’t the only choice being considered, though; Pep Guardiola of Manchester City and Eddie Howe of Newcastle are also being touted.
