The Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder is having a good time with Germany.
The international break has over, and the German national team showed some signs of life during its tour of the United States.
Following a win over the USMNT and a hard-fought draw with Mexico, Die Mannschaft came away with at least some life and momentum under new coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Pascal Groß of Brighton & Hove Albion was delighted to be a part of the effort and is relishing the opportunity to represent his country.
“No, it’s a long distance.” Being here and representing the German flag has been a longstanding goal of mine! “I always want to give it my all when the opportunity presents itself,” Groß told Sport1 journalist Kerry Hau.
Freddy Adu: saviour, the future Pelé… Forgotten
Freddy Adu was considered to be the saviour of American football before he was forgotten. Adu’s long career saw him set historic records, revitalise a dying league, and represent American football on a global scale. Nonetheless, his career is seen as a failure. How does a 14-year-old child who was once dubbed “the next Pelé” wind up being recognised as a wasted talent who squandered his chance to be America’s best soccer player ever? Well, the lens we’re looking through can be a little warped at times.
At the very least, Groß has put himself in line for another call-up, though earning as much pitch time during the next international break is not guaranteed. Regardless, the 32-year-old is pleased with his situation and will provide Nagelsmann with another midfield option in the future.
