The Argentina international has always been a fantastic player, but things just didn’t work out for him at Spurs for one reason or another.

Lo Celso was on loan at Villarreal for 18 months before returning to Tottenham in the summer. He impressed Postecoglou during preseason, and the Australian saw enough to keep him at the club.

Lo Celso came in as a substitute against Bournemouth in August after sitting out the first two games of the season. He was then unfortunate to sustain an injury that kept him out of the team for nearly a month.

The midfielder came off the bench against Luton Town before the international break, and he also travelled with Argentina.

He’s just stated that he’s back at Hotspur Way, implying that he’ll be ready to face Fulham on Monday. “We are back,” he tweeted yesterday after training.

Lo Celso can  provide for James Maddison.

One of the major concerns for Tottenham fans has been the possibility of James Maddison suffering an injury.

The Englishman has undoubtedly been their finest player this season, but he has taken a few blows along the way, scaring fans.

Fortunately, Maddison has avoided major injury thus far, and with Lo Celso returning, Postecoglou can afford to rest his number 10 now and again.

The new Spurs manager’s approach suited Lo Celso as well, and he may finally realise the promise he displayed at Real Betis before joining Tottenham in 2019.
