Leeds are poised to lose a highly regarded ace in January, with the player still interested in moving.

With Leeds gaining momentum in the Championship, the last thing Daniel Farke wants is turmoil in the January transfer window.

The All Whites went through a period of transition last summer, with new owners, a new manager in Farke, and numerous transfers in and out of the club.

It’s not going to help the manager if the dressing room balance is affected again, however one player looks to still desire to leave Elland Road after failing to secure a move during the summer.

According to TeamTalk, Willy Gnonto, 19, who famously went on strike at the start of the 2023/24 Championship season, is still aiming for a move abroad, with Everton set to outbid any Serie A clubs.

There are still two months until the January window opens for business, and plenty can happen between now and then, however it appears like something substantial must occur before the player even considers changing his mind.

A fee in excess of £20 million is likely to be required to secure Gnonto’s services, and with a potential points deduction hanging over Everton’s heads, it’s unlikely that the Toffees would be able to persuade a player who appears to dislike playing in the Championship to join a club that could be relegated by the end of the season.
