Former Brighton and Waterford manager to be named Oh Leuven’s new head coach.

According to Het Nieuwsblad, Oscar Garcia, a former manager of Watford and Brighton, will take over as head coach of OH Leuven.

The team decided to bring Garcia in despite Garcia‘s connections to Scott Parker after parting ways with Marc Brys a few weeks prior.

The former head coach of Barcelona U19 has held positions with Olympiacos, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Brighton, Watford, RB Salzburg, Saint-Étienne, and Celta Vigo. He left the French side in October 2022, having most recently held a position at Stade Reims. At RB Salzburg, Garcia twice won the Austrian Bundesliga in addition to the national cup during his managerial career.

The 2012–2013 season saw him win the Israeli league championship as well. Garcia played for teams like Barcelona and Espanyol throughout his entire playing career in Spain.

With just three victories from 12 games, OH Leuven is currently ranked 13th in the league. They would have to compete to stay in the bottom four spots in the Pro League at the end of the season because of their current standing.
