With his form this season, Leeds United teen Finlay Gorman has already piqued the interest of Manchester City and Newcastle United, and The Secret Scout believes we will do well to keep him.
Gorman, who is still only 15, has made his way into Leeds United’s U18 squad this season. He scored twice and assisted once in a 6-1 win over Stoke City, and he has now appeared five times for the club’s U18 side.
He has missed the last three U18 League games due to his participation in Le Tournoi Val-da-Marne with England’s U16 team, with Harry Grey. He has started two of England’s three matches this season.
Indeed, Gorman scored one of England’s two goals in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Switzerland. There is no doubt that Gorman will have a bright future, but it may not be at Elland Road.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Manchester City has begun discussions with Gorman but will face competition from Newcastle. The Secret Scout responded to an inquiry about Gorman by suggesting that we will do well to keep him.
According to experts, Leeds will do well to keep Finlay Gorman.
Gorman’s ability to score goals for England’s U16 and U18 teams at the age of 15 is quite remarkable. He’s already performing far beyond his years, so it’s no wonder that there’s a lot of interest in him.
Gorman will need to be promoted to the first team in the coming seasons if Leeds want to keep him at Elland Road. You’d like to think he’ll be in the U21s before the end of the season.
Or, at the very least, he will have made his debut. Leeds may benefit from the fact that he is not the only sub-16-year-old flourishing for Scott Gardner’s 18s. Harry Grey, Archie Gray’s brother, has also been raised to that level.
