The 51-year-old boss was expected to take over at Leeds in February, but he’s left club after just 15 games.

Leeds United were seeking for a new manager to replace Jesse Marsch in February, and reports said Alfred Schreuder was set to take over – however Schreuder has since left UAE side Al-Ain.

Schreuder, 51, was claimed to be in the stands as Michael Skubala took charge of Manchester United‘s 2-0 home defeat. According to iNews, he was supposed to succeed Marsch, but fan reaction changed things.

The ex-Ajax man is thought to have lost any chance of earning the Leeds post due to the overwhelming negative reaction from Leeds fans. Javi Gracia arrived, and we all know how it turned out.

Schreuder was out of work until May, when he joined Al-Ain of the United Arab Emirates. He has since performed admirably in the job, winning 13 of 15 games. Due to a lack of alignment within the club, a decision was made.

Alfred Schreuder leaves Al-Ain after joining Leeds in February.
Schreuder has had a long and successful career in management. Strangely, he has not survived more than 50 games in a single job. Twente had 16 wins in 45 games, while Hoffenheim had 13 in 33. Excellent efforts.

Then, in 2021-22, he won 15 of 21 games and the Belgian League title with Brugge. Ajax has 12 wins in 21 games. Al-Ain saw him get 13 in 15 – yet there is certainly a reason why Schreuder cannot stay at a club for a long time.

Meanwhile, Leeds appear to have finally found the proper manager in Daniel Farke. Leeds have a leader they can trust and rally behind for the first time since Marcelo Bielsa. A true leader.
