According to Mexican media, Tottenham Hotspur’s attempt to sign American Sebastian Caceres was rejected.
According to Fernando Esquivel on Twitter, Spurs attempted to sign the defender by paying £3 million for the transfer, allowing the North American club to keep a large percentage of any future move.
America’s request to Tottenham was reportedly for at least €5 million, with a smaller percentage of the next sale. Their total valuation of the player is €7 million.
According to Esquivel, Spurs are not giving up after the first rejection, which means the contacts are still active and a ‘new update’ is on the way.
Caceres is Uruguayan and has started every match in the World Cup Qualifiers so far.
He’s been playing in Mexico for nearly four years, and it appears that a move to Europe is imminent, as long as Tottenham increases their offer for him.
