Brighton have suffered a transfer blow as Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi wants to move to the Bundesliga after a strong start to the season in the Czech Republic.

Rafiu Durosinmi, a Brighton target, has set his sights on a move to the Bundesliga, with Eintracht Frankfurt leading the chase.

The Seagulls have been tracking the 6ft 4ins striker, who has nine goals this season for Czech club Viktoria Plzen, including six in nine league games.

Technically skilled, the Nigerian has been wowing audiences with his performances, displaying his skill, athleticism, and a wide range of finishes.

Brighton, always looking ahead and mindful of clubs still circling Evan Ferguson despite his new contract, are among the clubs to have checked on 20-year-old Durosinmi in recent months, with Plzen willing to sell for around £8.5 million.

Stuttgart has also looked ahead to bids from Fulham for striker Serhou Guirassy in January.

However, Mail Sport understands that Durosinmi has decided to join Eintracht Frankfurt, believing that, like France star Kolo Muani, they can provide him with a platform for the next step in his career.

Durosinmi, whose physique and style have drawn comparisons to former Arsenal strikers Kanu and Emmanuel Adebayor, only joined Plzen last January from second-tier Czech side Karvina.

He previously played for Nigeria’s Box2box academy and has yet to be capped by his country.
