Brighton’s director has now spoken out about Alexis MacAllister’s transfer to Liverpool.

Alexis MacAllister is still finding his feet at Liverpool, but he’ll be a fantastic addition.

The 24-year-old has recently struggled, culminating in a poor performance for Argentina last night. However, with Liverpool performing so well this season, he has become an important member of Jurgen Klopp‘s squad.

It comes after an outstanding year with Brighton and Argentina, which seemed to make a move up the football food chain inevitable. From the beginning of the transfer window, Liverpool had him marked as a top target.

Brighton CEO Paul Barber told journalist Ben Jacobs via X yesterday that ‘everyone could see’ that Mac Allister was about to leave the Seagulls.

“Everyone could see that Alexis Mac Allister, having won a World Cup, would want to play at the highest possible level that he could,” Barber told the BBC.

Mac Allister is ready to accompany the Reds on their journey.

After a couple of slightly below-par performances, some Liverpool fans have begun to question Mac Allister‘s leadership. That, however, is too harsh for us.

True, we could have expected a little more from a player who already has a World Cup medal on his mantle. The Argentine has occasionally disappointed.

It’s worth noting, however, that Mac Allister had been a regular starter for Liverpool in the Premier League until last Sunday’s game.

The Reds haven’t had a perfect season, but they’ve improved 100 percent from last year.

As a new player taking a big step up and entering a brand-new environment, Mac Allister deserves credit for his role in this.

Dominik Szoboszlai has received more attention, but the former Brighton resident has kept things moving while also providing the occasional flash of magic.

Mac Allister will only get better as he gets used to playing for a top club. He should be released from his holding midfield role at some point, which should also help.

According to Barber, Macca was clearly ready to take that step up. It’s a process, but so far he hasn’t seemed out of place.

Keep going, Alexis; you’ll get there.
