Leeds United’s star has informed manager Daniel Farke that he wishes to stay and sign a new contract – Pundit

Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray has recently been linked with a move to Liverpool, but he is expected to sign a new contract before any offers come in.

Archie Gray made his senior debut at Elland Road after being in the matchday squad around two years ago at 15 when Marcelo Bielsa was dealing with an injury crisis that would end them all in the Premier League.

He’s taken to the challenge like a duck to water since, becoming a key figure in this promotion push, and his abilities are being recognised far beyond Elland Road.

Archie Gray to move to Liverpool?

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool is one of three Premier League clubs interested in signing the 17-year-old midfielder at the end of the season.

Gray has been a standout for Farke this season, but his current deal is set to expire in 2025 because he is unable to sign a long-term contract before his 18th birthday in March.

According to the report, Leeds are asking for up to £40 million for the midfielder’s signature if the Reds, Everton, or Crystal Palace pursue their preliminary interest.

Carlton Palmer makes a significant contract claim
Carlton Palmer, a former Leeds player, has now spoken to Football League World about Gray and the speculation surrounding him, claiming that the player has told the club that he will commit his future to the club.

He stated:

“Despite interest from top clubs both at home and abroad, Leeds United are confident that Archie Gray will commit his future to the club.”

Leeds has slapped a £30-40 million price tag on the young man’s head.” Gray has indicated that he is happy where he is and wants to continue his footballing education at Leeds United under Daniel Farke, which is a huge boost for the club in their quest to reclaim their Premier League status once again.

“This is great news for the manager, the club and the supporters.”

Gray is easy to compare to Jude Bellingham after he cut his teeth in the Championship, but Gray has a real chance to get promoted with his boyhood club.

A move to Liverpool can wait, and if we win the Premier League this season, he will have the opportunity to play every week with us.

Grey will almost certainly rise to the top if he is properly managed and continues in the same vein as he is now, but there is no need to rush.
