Tottenham will play Aston Villa this weekend in a crucial encounter for both teams.
Both teams are vying for a Champions League spot for next season, and this matchup might be crucial in determining where both teams finish this season.
Spurs have already lost two games in a row and are missing three key players, including James Maddison, for this match, while Aston Villa have been excellent recently, but not so much away from home.
On Stick to Football, Ian Wright, Jamie Carragher, and Gary Neville all attempted to predict the outcome of this game, and they all agreed that Tottenham will come away empty-handed.
Spurs are not favoured.
The experts predicted how this one would turn out.
“That’s a good game,” Wright remarked of Tottenham against. Villa.
“2-1 to Villa, I fancy Villa to get something.”
“Tottenham won’t win that, Tottenham won’t win,” Carragher said.
“We’ll go with 3-1 to Villa,” Neville said.
Tough
Tottenham aren’t favourites to win this match, and we can see why.
Aston Villa have been in excellent form recently, whereas Tottenham have slumped and are missing three of their most key players.
There’s no doubt that Ange Postecoglou has done a terrific job at Tottenham so far, but when you lose your two center-backs and your playmaker all at once, you’re going to struggle.
Villa are a fantastic attacking team, and we have to believe that they will be able to exploit the vulnerabilities in this Tottenham side right now.
Of course, beating Tottenham at home is much easier said than done, but given both teams’ current conditions, we’d have to back Villa to win here.
