Former Leeds United defender Jon Newsome slammed Leeds United midfielder Glen Kamara during the club’s match against Rotherham United.
The BBC Sport pundit slammed the Finland international for his “awful finish” in the first half of Friday’s Championship clash.
After Crysensio Summerville opened the scoring after seven minutes, Kamara had the chance to put the visitors up 2-0 in the first half, but the game ended 1-1 thanks to Hakeem Odoffin‘s 45th-minute equaliser for the hosts.
“That was so wasteful, it was four against two at one point there,” Newsome said on BBC Radio Leeds (20.39, November 24), according to BBC Sport. “Summerville is fantastic; no one could catch him.” It was a terrible ending.”
A Big Miss
It was a huge miss from Kamara, who was then made to feel even worse when Odoffin equalised for the home side shortly after.
The Finland midfielder is not known for his goals, and manager Daniel Farke does not rely on him in that regard.
However, the former Rangers man should have given the visitors a comfortable lead, with the quick turnaround of events undoubtedly infuriating Farke.
After superb counter-attacking work from Summerville – who had a fantastic first half – Kamara could only fire his effort into the side netting.
Summerville produced a very clinical finish for his early goal, indicating that finishing should be left to the attacking players on the team.
However, much to the chagrin of the visitors, that was the extent of their scoring for the evening, with the point leaving Leeds trailing Leicester City and Ipswich Town in the league table.
