According to Football Insider, Leeds United are in talks with Real Betis about a permanent move for on-loan midfielder Marc Roca.
The Whites want to recoup at least the £9 million fee paid to Bayern Munich when Roca, 26, joined the club in the summer of 2022.
Negotiations with Real Betis, the midfielder’s loan club, are now underway in preparation for a possible January transfer.
Roca has appeared in 18 games this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
He is a regular starter for Betis in La Liga and has also performed admirably as a centre-back in this season’s Europa League.
After signing last summer (2022), the midfielder’s contract at Elland Road is set to expire in June 2026.
Roca appeared in 36 games for the Whites across all competitions, scoring once and assisting twice as they were relegated from the Premier League.
Following the relegation, he was one of several Leeds players to push for loan moves, including Jack Harrison, Luis Sinisterra, Rasmus Kristensen, and Brenden Aaronson.
Despite the exodus, Daniel Farke‘s side is doing well in the Championship, sitting third in the table.
After 13 games in the 2023-24 season, Roca’s Betis are seventh in La Liga.
Archie Gray, an impressive teenager who is wanted by elite Premier League sides despite being only 17 years old, is one midfielder who will not be leaving Elland Road in January.
Leeds are adamant Gray is not going anywhere, according to Football Insider, and plan to open contract talks with him soon.
