A major club is interested in Brighton’s £59 million “beautiful talent” for the summer.

At the end of the season, the Seagulls will fight to keep one of their most valuable assets.

One of Brighton & Hove Albion’s first-team players may be leaving the team in the summer, according to a recent report, as he is being pursued by a prominent club.

Brighton’s recent exits
The Seagulls approved the loan or permanent departure of 21 players during the previous window; Moises Caicedo, Alexis Mac Allister, and Robert Sanchez were among the biggest names to depart permanently, but more players may soon follow in their footsteps.

Danny Welbeck Adam Lallana and Adam Lallana are all under contract with Roberto De Zerbi, and if they aren’t given the opportunity to extend, they will probably be heading out the door at the end of the current campaign (Brighton contracts).

Kaoru Mitoma signed a new contract at The Amex recently as a reward for his efforts. The left-winger originally joined the team in 2021 and has since made 60 appearances overall (Transfermarkt – Mitoma statistics).

According to the aforementioned outlet, Japan’s international signed an improved contract back in October, meaning he will stay with the team until at least 2027. However, even though he committed to his long-term future only two months ago, the 26-year-old has already begun to gain interest from Premier League suitors.

Kaoru Mitoma is of interest to Man City.
Man City is reportedly interested in Mitoma before 2024, according to Spanish reports (via The Hard Tackle). With Pep Guardiola being a major fan of the forward, the Sky Blues are eager to make a deal for him when the season ends.

It will be interesting to see whether Brighton is able to complete the sale of their prized asset, as they have set a price tag of €70-80m (£59-68m).

Mitoma has “beautiful talent” that Brighton must preserve.
Mitoma has made seven contributions (four assists and three goals) in 13 Premier League games this season. Given his strong play thus far and his beneficial impact on the team, Brighton must exert every effort to keep him on board.

The Puma-sponsored Kawasaki native has more shots than any other teammate this season (23 total; see FBRef – Brighton statistics), demonstrating how unique he is in the last third when compared to his teammates.
