As a result, Ange Postecoglou‘s side are not in danger of relegation, and that is unlikely to change very soon.  While simply remaining in the Premier League is not Daniel Levy‘s goal, it is undoubtedly necessary in view of recent developments in the top division. According to the Premier League’s official website (4 December), the Premier League has concluded the sales process for UK live rights and free-to-air highlights for the four-year period beginning with the 2025/26 season.  The three agreements, with Sky Sports, TNT Sports, and BBC Sport, are the largest sports media rights deals ever signed in the UK, and will provide a total of £1 billion in revenue.

The three agreements, with Sky Sports, TNT Sports, and BBC Sport, are the largest sports media rights deals ever signed in the UK, totaling £6.7 billion in income over a four-year period.

On its website, it stated that “broadcast renewals will provide financial certainty for clubs throughout professional football until at least 2029.”

Tottenham will, of course, be eager to remain in the competition until then, and for a long time beyond.

According to the official Premier League website [16 September 2016], domestic money is divided into three categories: 50% is divided evenly among the clubs, 25% is granted on a merit basis based on final league rankings, and 25% is distributed as a facilities fee for televised matches.

The section that immediately stands out to Tottenham supporters will, of course, be the final league positions, with fans desperate to see their club finish the season in as high a place as possible.  The latest television agreement should definitely incentivize Levy to aim for the stars in terms of league finishes, with Champions League cash being a huge added benefit.
