Kaoru Mitoma should be fit to start against Brentford, according to Roberto De Zerbi, but Brighton will not have any players returning from injury for the Amex clash.
Pervis Estupinan (thigh), Tariq Lamptey (thigh), Adam Webster (knock), Danny Welbeck (muscular), Julio Enciso (knee), Ansu Fati (thigh), and Solly March (knee) are currently out, and Mahmoud Dahoud and are suspended.
Igor Julio, James Milner, and Mitoma all returned to action this week after injuries, and head coach De Zerbi says there have been no team news setbacks since his team’s 3-2 loss to Chelsea on Sunday.
De Zerbi said on Tuesday that no players would return for Wednesday’s match on the south coast. I don’t think so. We will assess the situation today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday), but I don’t want to risk any new injuries. The squad that played at Stamford Bridge can now play tomorrow.
“Yes, Mitoma did not start against Chelsea because he played 65 minutes last Thursday in Athens.” It was a big gamble for him to play for so long. Tomorrow, I believe he can begin, but we’ll see in the morning.”
