Tottenham’s player believes his injury nightmare is over.

Richarlison of Tottenham Hotspur told ESPN Brasil that he had been suffering from an injury for a long period before undergoing surgery.

The 26-year-old underwent groin surgery in early November, missing two games for Spurs as well as two matches for Brazil during last month’s international break.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has admitted that he initially refused to have surgery in order to keep his position on the national squad.

“I’ve been in pain since last season.” “I had been treating it, but it wasn’t working; I had several injections in the area, and I had several procedures, but it didn’t solve the problem,” he explained.

“Of course, surgery was the final option. Because it didn’t work, I chose to get the operation while also considering the club, the national team.”

The forward’s statements have been recounted by UOL and O Dia, and both claim that he initially chose against having surgery in order to represent Brazil at the World Cup last year.

This was something the former Everton player was unwilling to give up at the time. At the same time, the attacker has stated that he is now glad he underwent the treatment.
“I didn’t want to give up the national team or my teammates.” “I was also a little selfish; I saw a time when I was getting in my own way, a time when I had to stop,” Richarlison added.

“I made the right decision to have surgery, and today I am doing well.” Now it’s time to continue and finish.”

Ange Postecoglou utilised the South American as a substitute in Tottenham’s draws with Manchester City and losses to West Ham when he reached full health.

The coach gave him a start against Newcastle United on Sunday, and he reacted by scoring a brace.

Following that, the player stated that he is no longer in discomfort.

“I’m much better than I used to be.” Now I am completely confident. This procedure, I believe, greatly aided my recovery in training. Now that I’m not in discomfort, I’m able to train more effectively. It’s changing every day, and we’re planning the next game,” he added.
