If information is accurate, Leeds United may be on the verge of making a major transfer error

It’s likely that Leeds United’s January transfer window will be somewhat quiet.

Although Daniel Farke has previously stated that keeping the team’s core players will be the club’s first goal next month, this does not preclude any new players from joining.

Given Sam Byram’s and Junior Firpo’s ongoing medical issues, Farke has acknowledged the necessity to add a new left-back, and a number 10 may possibly be in the cards.

Kerem Akturkoglu of Galatasaray, however, may be the subject of the strongest transfer link right now; rumors have it that Leeds has been in negotiations to recruit him for the past two weeks.

Despite the fact that he is a talented player, Leeds is reportedly willing to pay just under £13 million to sign him, believing that doing so would be a mistake.

Next month, Leeds doesn’t need Akturkoglu.
Although Akturkoglu has occasionally played as an attacking midfielder this season, Leeds are probably strongest when he is on the left, which is also where he plays best.

With ten goals and six assists, Crysencio Summerville seems to have it all figured out, but Willy Gnonto and Jaidon Anthony are also excellent choices at this level, so they will have to make do with minutes off the bench.

It would be foolish for a Championship club to spend so much money on a position that isn’t necessary. A creative number 10 who can break through tight defenses with their passing ability would be a better use of the dollars.

This season, Leeds has had difficulty versus low defensive lines on occasion; in the last two games, this has not been the case. In this league, £13 million may go a long way, but it needs to go to the right player.

According to Angus Kinnear, loans will make up the majority of Leeds’ transfer strategy, which is likely a wiser course of action in any case for January.
