A 27-year-old admits he was shocked by what some Leeds United fans said about him

Leeds United’s relegation caused the club to lose several first-team players from the previous season

Loan clauses had been included into a number of their contracts, and after their return to the Championship was confirmed, they became active, resulting in eight players leaving on loan.
Given that Leeds did not receive transfer fees for these players, it sparked widespread outrage among fans on social media, with Robin Koch being the first to speak out.

Koch, whose contract at Leeds was slated to expire in the summer, was the first to sign a four-year agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this week.

That has now concluded his three and a half-year chapter, and in an interview with the Athletic, Koch stated that the criticism he endured from fans following his exit truly wounded him.
Koch claims that remarks made by Leeds supporters wounded him.

“It hurt me to read a lot of the comments from fans on social media, but I can understand their anger,” he stated. Relegation was extremely difficult for the Leeds supporters, who are positively infatuated with their team. I always gave it my all to help Leeds succeed and to please the Leeds supporters.

“I thought it was awful that we weren’t able to stay up at the end of the previous season. The team possessed exceptional quality. We had a good squad and a positive attitude. However, we had to contend with several concerns about injuries and regrettably fell into a vicious cycle from which we were unable to escape.

“We made every effort to stay above the bottom. The moment it was decided upon was really traumatic. I had to cope with it for a while after being demoted. I had no intention of leaving Leeds during the season and had not given it any thought.
