A 27-year-old player from Spain who Klopp publicly complimented claims to have supported Liverpool “since I was a kid.”

David Raya, a goalkeeper for Brentford and Spain, has asserted that he has always supported Liverpool

Raya was questioned by La Vanguardia about his support for Real Madrid prior to Spain’s games this week.

“That isn’t true. Since I was a young child, I have followed the Premier League, and I am a fan of both Liverpool and Arsenal. I only see La Liga in black and white,” the 27-year-old remarked.

Raya could be a choice for Liverpool.

When the transfer market opens up this summer, Raya’s remarks might be worth recalling. Liverpool is probably searching for a goalkeeper.

At the very least, it appears that backup stopper Adrian will quit after serving out the remainder of his contract. But it can also turn out that Liverpool requires a new Alisson Becker backup.

The Reds might have to face the possibility that Caoimhin Kelleher aspires to be a No. 1 someplace. The Irishman has the ability to handle it, and he has already made it clear that he is considering his choices.

He will turn 25 at the end of this season. He may try to leave Liverpool if a starting position there doesn’t appear to be forthcoming.

Perhaps Raya would be the target in that situation. After Liverpool and Brentford drew 3-3 in October of last year, Jurgen Klopp was evidently thrilled with the goalie.

According to Klopp through BBC Sport, “With the balls that he played, their goaltender should have number 10 on his shirt.”

Klopp is obviously a fan, so. We are aware of Jurgen’s willingness to chase players for his own squad when he spots one he likes. Raya might not be inexpensive because he represents Spain and is his club’s starting quarterback. But given that his contract expires in 2024, he would undoubtedly be open to the move, so perhaps an agreement might be reached.
