A former target of Leeds United is currently included in the worst transfer XI in the Premier League.

Max Aarons is included in the worst Premier League signing XI, therefore Leeds United appears to have escaped harm.

There were many players associated with moving to Elland Road during what was a very active time of moves both into and out of Leeds United last summer.

There were many players, like then-Norwich City full-back Max Aarons, who for whatever reason did not wind up donning the white shirt this season, despite the likes of Ethan Ampadu and Joel Piroe switching to Daniel Farke‘s squad.

The England youth international appeared to be joining the ranks at Elland Road this summer after agreeing to a £12 million deal with the Canaries, but Bournemouth swooped in at the last minute to sign him [The Athletic, 9 August].

The Bournemouth full-back was listed as one of the worst arrivals throughout England’s top division, along with players like Raul Jiminez and Kai Havertz, in WhoScored.com‘s worst Premier League signing XI, so it appears as though the Whites may have escaped serious injury.

With an average rating of 6.28 from his seven starts this season, the 23-year-old is the lowest-rated player in the lineup following a few poor performances, including a dismal afternoon against Arsenal that earned him a score of 5.04, the 11th-lowest of any player this season.

After a rocky start under Andoni Iraola, Bournemouth is still searching for their first Premier League victory this year. However, Aarons was benched for the Cherries’ final league game before the October international break in favour of Marcus Tavernier.

The majority of the Elland Road crowd won’t lament missing out on Aarons because to the strong full-back performances of Sam Byram, Luke Ayling, and even Archie Grey for Leeds United, who have been thriving in the Championship.

In addition to Farke’s team’s already strong performances thus far, the Whites have yet to witness the best of summer acquisition Djed Spence, who joined on loan after Aarons decided to move to the south coast after the Tottenham player sustained an early injury.

Spence might very well make a difference for the Whites between now and the end of the season given his prior success in England’s second division. There is a good potential that Bournemouth and Aarons may replace Farke’s team in the standings next year if results keep going the way they have so far this season.
