A further boost to Leeds United’s promotion bid is predicted, with a greater risk of a setback for a key opponent.

Leeds reduced the distance to the division’s top two with a 1-0 victory over leaders Leicester City on Friday night, and bookmakers feel Daniel Farke‘s side will pick up another three points against sixth-bottom Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.

The Whites are long-odds on favourites with every bookmaker, as short as 1-4 but no shorter than 2-7 to beat the newly-promoted Pilgrims, who can be backed at 9-1 to win at Elland Road. The draw is available at 5-1, and Leeds is in charge of the first ten players in the first goalscorer market, which is led by Joel Piroe at 10-3.

With Plymouth forwards Ryan Hardie and Mustapha Bundu both out, Morgan Whittaker and Ben Waine are the main Plymouth threats, but both are 14-1 to score the game’s first goal, the same odds as United’s Lewis Bate.

Leeds, Leicester, and second-placed Ipswich Town are all participating in Saturday 3pm kick-offs, and the bookmakers believe Leicester has a better risk of dropping points than usual. Enzo Maresca‘s team are always odds-on favourites for their games, but the Foxes are as much as 7-5 for their weekend trip to in-form Middlesbrough. Boro leads 13-5 with a 2-1 victory.

Ipswich, on the other hand, are favourites to win both their home game against Swansea City on Saturday and their away game against Rotherham United on Tuesday night. The Tractor Boys defeated Swansea 8-13 and moved 10 points clear of Leeds with a 4-9 victory over third-bottom Rotherham.
