Mikey Moore, an in-form Tottenham teenager, is the latest to sustain an injury.
Tottenham specialist John Wenham recently confirmed that the’star player’ suffered a calf injury while on international duty and will be sidelined for up to six weeks.
And now, Wenham has revealed how devastating the injury is for the Spurs young team.
He compared Moore‘s departure to the first team losing James Maddison.
He stated, ”
Moore has been the top player for the Under-18s this season, and he will now be out for six weeks, which is a significant setback.
“Being without Moore for the FA Youth Cup third-round tie away at Brentford on Tuesday 5 December is such a kick in the teeth because I thought this team would go very far in the Youth Cup this year.”
“Losing Moore is the equivalent of the first team losing James Maddison, he is that important.”
Moore, regarded as one of Tottenham’s most promising academy players, primarily works as an attacker, frequently holding wide positions on the pitch.
And the 16-year-old has been outstanding for the U18s this season, scoring 8 goals and assisting on another 5 in 7 games.
His absence is a huge blow for the Academy, who play in the FA Youth Cup third round on December 5.
Meanwhile, the first-team earned a crucial point against Manchester City, drawing 3-3 at the Etihad.
Tottenham’s goals came from Son, Lo Celso, and Kulusevski.
