According to The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke, Radu Dragusin feels at ease with his status at Tottenham Hotspur and understands that he must wait his turn to break into the starting eleven.
Given Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven‘s formidable partnership this season, Dragusin was always going to face a difficult task in breaking into the Spurs squad.
Earlier this month, Romanian site Pro Sport questioned whether the defender will be lacking in match sharpness heading into the Euros this summer if he continued to battle for game time at Tottenham.
Radu Dragusin is pleased to be patient at Spurs.
Dragusin‘s agent, Florian Manea, told Fanatik (via Playsport) last week that the 22-year-old will be given an opportunity soon.
Pitt-Brooke stated on The View From The Lane podcast regarding the former Genoa star: “Dragusin was a fantastic player in Italy, and I gather he’s pretty relaxed about the situation.” He understands that Tottenham does not have enough games this season to provide opportunity for different players.
“He’s coming into a new league, the two centre-backs are currently very well-established and playing well and fit and not suspended, but as soon as any of those things cease to be the case, Dragusin will come straight in and play.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I do not see Dragusin‘s situation changing in the near future unless there is an injury, as Romero is one of Tottenham‘s current leaders, and Van de Ven has been one of our finest players this season.
