Umar Sadiq, a Rangers failure, is about to make a spectacular transfer to Valencia.
Before a possible loan transfer to the La Liga team, the former Ibrox loanee is anticipated to have a medical examination today.
Currently playing for Real Sociedad, Sadiq, 27, is wanted by Valencia on a first-term loan with a buyout option.
In 2018, Sadiq signed a temporary transfer from Italian team Roma to Rangers, where he spent six months on loan.
After a disappointing loan stay in Scotland, he played just four games for Rangers before being transferred back to the Serie A team.
Despite being a surprise starter in a Betfred Cup semi-final loss to Aberdeen, Sadiq played just 116 minutes for Rangers’ first team under Steven Gerrard and did not score a goal.
Since then, Sadiq’s career has taken a big turn for the better. He was able to secure a five-year contract with Almeria in Spain after excelling while on loan at Partizan.
In September 2022, he signed a contract with Real Sociedad. Sadiq’s contract there expires in the summer of 2028, but it now looks like he will join Valencia in the top division of Spain.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a physical will be conducted on Friday before the agreement is finalized and specifics are agreed upon by the player and both clubs.
