According to Fabrizio Romano, Girona has informed clubs interested in rumoured Tottenham target Artem Dovbyk that his release clause must be satisfied in order to join him this summer.
Girona has enjoyed an exceptional season and is expected to finish third in La Liga, after Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Dovbyk, who joined from Ukrainian side SC Dnipro-1 last season, has been a key factor in their remarkable performance.
The centre-forward was unknown to most fans until a year ago, but he has 20 goals and seven assists in 34 league appearances in his first season in Spain (Transfermarkt).
Spurs-linked Artem Dovbyk has a £34 million release clause.
Mundo Deportivo claimed earlier this year that Tottenham, Chelsea, and Atletico Madrid were all interested in signing the 26-year-old.
Romano has now disclosed on social media that Girona has no intention of negotiating the Ukrainian international’s sale, and that interested teams must satisfy the player’s €40 million (£34 million) release clause.

There haven’t been many stories in the recent several months naming Dovbyk as one of Tottenham’s striker targets. Spurs’ interest in the Girona star appears to have waned, with the club now focusing on Santiago Gimenez, Ivan Toney, and Omar Marmoush.
