A SURVEY DETERMINES LIVERPOOL ACE IS MORE IMPACTFUL THAN DORTMUND STAR, BEING BETTER THAN BELLINGHAM

The most recent study conducted by CIES aimed to rank the world’s most influential people under the age of 25, and the results revealed some intriguing trends

The Football Observatory attempted to rate young players according to their value to their teams using a role-based methodology, taking into account things like minutes played, on-pitch performance, and overall team performance.

Trent Alexander-Arnold received a very high rating for being a “infiltrator maker” when players were divided into 15 different technical profiles for the study.

The Liverpool star did receive an impact score of 98.4 out of 100, which is interesting because it means that he performed better than certain players who were actually exceptional in this area.

It is noteworthy that Alexander-Arnold ranks so highly in this category because a “infiltrator creator” is a player who ranks highly in terms of dribbles, assists, and chances generated. He is a right-back after all.

In this capacity, aggressive players like Moussa Diaby, Dejan Kulusevski, and Phil Foden don’t rank as highly as Alexander-Arnold does, nor does Jude Bellingham.

Alexander-Arnold and Bellingham both fit the description of “infiltrator creators,” but Bellingham comes out on top by 7.3 percentage points.

Although Bellingham has undoubtedly been closely associated with Liverpool, this research indicates that the Reds already have a player who is more capable of playing the midfielder position than the England international.

The fact that Alexander-metrics Arnold’s support the notion that he fits in this type of profile among players like Bellingham only enhances the idea that he will eventually play in the midfield.

Liverpool might spend less money on a new right-back and save millions if they simply moved Alexander-Arnold to the center of the field instead of splashing out on Bellingham. With course, finding a full-back of sufficient caliber is more said than done.

One thing is certain: Liverpool will be a formidable creative force if Bellingham and Alexander-Arnold play together.
