Despite interest from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, Christopher Nkunku has chosen to sign with Graham Potter’s Chelsea, according to The Athletic
LIVERPOOL IS CHELSEA’S TARGET. THEODORE NKUNKU
Nkunku, a star for RB Leipzig who has been linked to moves to Liverpool and Real Madrid, will reportedly join Chelsea in the summer of 2023, according to The Athletic.
Nkunku, who can play as a forward or a midfielder, is said to have entered into a pre-contract agreement with Chelsea, according to the report.
The ex-Premier League and UEFA Champions League champions have agreed to pay more than the 24-year-£52.7 old’s million release clause.
This is due to the fact that Chelsea reportedly wants to prevent a transfer conflict with rival clubs for the France international in the summer of 2023.
For Real Madrid and Liverpool, this will be a setback.
Didier Deschamps, the manager of the France national football team, described Nkunku as “dangerous” in Kicker in March 2022, and La Liga powerhouse Madrid are reportedly interested in signing him, according to a report from Fussball Transfers last week.
