Agent reveals the extent of Nottingham Forest’s close call to recruit the midfield player that dazzled Jose Mourinho.

Although maybe not quite as active as the team has been in past seasons, Nottingham Forest was once again quite active during the summer transfer window.

The Reds were successful in bringing in 11 new players, which has given the team a player for almost every position.

Moreover, more than 20 players left this summer. The most well-known players to go were Odysseas Vlachodimos, Joe Worrall, Orel Mangala, and Moussa Niakhate.

This summer, Forest was really laid back on the day of the deadline. Only two players were added to bring the total number of arriving stars for the summer to 11: Morato and James Ward-Prowse.

During the transfer season, Forest made an attempt to sign additional players, and when the window closed, it seemed that one player in particular was getting close to joining the Reds.

The agent verifies Edoardo Bove’s proximity to the Nottingham Forest transfer.

With Jose Mourinho’s departure from the Serie A team, the Roma midfielder has become much less important. After that, he joined Fiorentina, although Forest was really interested in the talent.

Tifo Granata has now spoken with Diego Tavano, Bove’s agent, and he stated that Forest was the most desirable team to sign Bove before to his cross-Serie A transfer.

“It was a unique summer for Edoardo,” he stated. We’re not sure why, but we started looking elsewhere when he couldn’t get a place at Roma. There were a few options; Ligue 1 and Nottingham [Forest] were the hottest.

After presenting (Michael) Richardson to him in the summer, I realized Fiorentina had something significant to share. As evidenced by Viola Park, Florence has a rich history and a serious club with an ambitious vision.

When signing Ward-Prowse during the summer window, Forest made the correct decision.

Nothing against Bove, but with Danilo sidelined due to injury, Forest may have required further Premier League experience, and Ward-Prowse can undoubtedly provide that to the Forest team.

During his tenure as Roma’s manager, Mourinho was a huge admirer of Bove and spoke highly of him. He has never played in England, though, so perhaps the adjustment time was too great when he signed on loan.

It was a wise decision for Forest to prioritize signing the players they desired over making impulsive purchases in the summer. Bove doesn’t appear to be a very awful player, but it’s possible that signing him felt like too big of a risk.

It appears, nevertheless, that the club made a strong effort to try and obtain him. It would be intriguing to watch if he stays on the radar for next transfer windows as a result.
