Alan Brazil backs Tottenham to sign ‘Player of the Season’ – Before the transfer deadline

The January transfer market has been rather quiet for the bulk of Premier League teams, assuming you are not Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs, who supported Ange Postecoglou in the summer, have gone again, this time adding to their forward line and defence, with Timo Werner joining on loan.

But can Tottenham recruit another attacker before the deadline? Here’s all you need to know about the winter transfer window’s deadline.

According to sources, Bournemouth would need to spend more than £60 million to sell Tottenham target Dominic Solanke.

Alan Brazil believes that if Champions League contenders came calling, the player himself ‘couldn’t say no,’ as he told talkSPORT (31/01/24 at 6:25 am).

The 26-year-old has been one of the Premier League’s top performers this season, earning the title of ‘Player of the Season’ from Ian Wright after scoring 12 goals in 20 Premier League games.

Dominic Solanke

Spurs are still hunting for an outright striker following Harry Kane‘s departure, so might Dominic Solanke be the answer?

Dominic Solanke joining Tottenham?

“He was young when he was at Liverpool, wasn’t he,” Brazil went on to say. He didn’t get many chances. He’s since blossomed.

“If he joins Tottenham, you will be pushed into the deep end. Don’t get me wrong; there is nothing wrong with Bournemouth.

“But if you go to Tottenham, you expect to score on a regular basis. It’s a huge shout. One he probably couldn’t turn down. “I would not say it was guaranteed to work.”

Daniel Levy on Transfer Deadline Day

Over the years, the transfer window has taught everyone that Daniel Levy enjoys being busy.

Here’s everything you need to know about all Premier League clubs’ January transfers thus far.

So, will Tottenham strike any last-minute deals? Don’t bet against Levy trying to do so, even if he says he isn’t, because he is an expert at it.

Will Tottenham get Solanke now? Probably not, given the fees involved, but there is a chance come summer.
