Alan Shearer claims Tottenham have a player who is even better than Bukayo Saka.

Alan Shearer has made an unusual remark about Tottenham and Arsenal’s main players while putting together his greatest Premier League XI.

On the BBC Match of the Day Top 10 Podcast, Shearer was asked to select his finest Premier League XI, and he found himself in a pickle in the attacking department.

Inevitably, Shearer chose Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah in the attack, but he struggled to select a third attacker.

The pundit eventually chose Heung-Min Son, however he indicated that he had Bukayo Saka in mind for this position before deciding that Son was the better player.

Heung-Min Son chose over Bukayo Saka.

Shearer talked about both Son and Saka.

“I have Son, and I am going for Son. I was going to put Saka or Son, but I decided on Son. “He’s that good,” Shearer explained.

“I was just thinking about where I could put him in, but, Son.”

Son versus Saka

This is a contentious debate that will undoubtedly divide opinions.

On the one hand, Saka has a greater ceiling and has likely performed better than Son over the last 18 months.
Son, on the other hand, has been doing it considerably longer than Saka, has won the Premier League Golden Boot, and is unstoppable on his day.

Both players are fantastic strikers who, at times, must carry their respective teams, and it is difficult to differentiate the two.

Shearer chose Son over Saka, which is understandable given Son’s long track record of excellence.

Son and Saka are both excellent footballers who have defined the modern period of football in north London, and it’s difficult to decide which is better.
