The youthful players of Tottenham Hotspur have excelled in preseason play as the team looks to advance under Ange Postecoglou.
This summer, Mikey Moore has received a ton of praise, and Will Lankshear has also been predicted to do well. Obviously, since joining Tottenham this summer, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall have received a lot of attention.
Alasdair Gold claims on his YouTube channel that Bergvall has been tremendously excellent throughout the preseason and that the Swedish midfielder is now performing better than Spurs had anticipated.
Lucas Bergvall is performing better than Tottenham anticipated.
Gold gave his assessment of the teen. “There is a hint of strength about Lucas Bergvall. Simply put, I think he’s progressed more than Spurs or us anticipated,” Gold remarked.
“I just feel like he’s going to do something magical at some point this season, maybe even in the first half, and Postecoglou is going to know he’s ready.” I just sense that it will happen.
Bergvall leaves room for interpretation.
Although Bergvall is performing above and beyond all expectations at Tottenham thus far, it’s difficult to decide where to use the midfielder given his skill set. He has only ever played in Scandinavia, and to be fair, when a player isn’t performing at his best, it can be difficult to accurately assess his skill.
Tottenham bought a young kid from a lower league, and like Dele Alli years ago, he’s adapted to life at the team like a duck to water. It remains to be seen if Bergvall can have the same impact as Alli did this season, but don’t be shocked if he contributes significantly to Ange Postecoglou’s team.
There are many reasons to be optimistic about Bergvall’s future at Spurs, and Tottenham may just have another young superstar on their hands.
