Welsh sensation wows Leeds fans with outstanding performance
With two goals and an assist, there could only be one winner in Boost’s Player of the Match versus Peterborough.
With Pascal Struijk out injured and Liam Cooper on the bench, Ethan Ampadu came forward to take the captain’s armband, and he delivered an outstanding performance despite moving from his customary midfield position to start with Joe Rodon in the heart of defence.
It took Leeds 35 minutes to break Peterborough‘s resolve, with Jaidon Anthony whipping in a free-kick that Patrick Bamford brought down into the path of a waiting Ampadu, who scored it brilliantly.
After halftime, Ampadu switched roles, firing a magnificent ball up to Patrick Bamford, who turned and shot, scoring one of Leeds’ most memorable goals.
Leeds refused to settle for a two-goal advantage and pushed until the finish, when Ampadu headed home Dan James‘ corner in the 90th minute to seal a 3-0 victory and advance the Whites to the Fourth Round.
Ampadu‘s influence on the game was so great that 56% of fans chose him over Patrick Bamford, who received 36%.
