Ange Postecoglou confirms Giovani Lo Celso’s Tottenham injury ahead of the match against Nottingham Forest.

Ange Postecoglou has issued an update on Tottenham’s injury situation ahead of their Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on Friday night.

Giovani Lo Celso will miss Tottenham’s game against Nottingham Forest on Friday night due to injury, according to Ange Postecoglou. The Argentina international has been a crucial player for Spurs in recent weeks, but he “got a bit of a niggle at training” and will miss the trip to the City Ground.

Lo Celso will be a major miss from the Tottenham squad due to what he can bring going forward from his midfield role, with Spurs now short on numbers due to different injury difficulties. With his playing time increasing over the last month, the midfielder scored in back-to-back games against Aston Villa and Manchester City.

Despite his strong showing in front of goal, the player was relegated to the bench against Newcastle United last Sunday, where he came on for the final 17 minutes of the 4-1 victory. Postecoglou delivered an update on Spurs injuries at his pre-match press conference at Hotspur Way.

“The only one that’s new this week is Gio [Lo Celso],” he went on to say. “Unfortunately, he got a niggle at training, I’m not sure what it is, but he missed training today and won’t be available tomorrow.” Hopefully, it’s not something serious.”
Postecoglou will be trying to bring his player back to full health as soon as possible, as Tottenham’s seasonal fixtures will begin to pile up. Following their game against Forest, Spurs face Everton before Christmas, followed by Brighton & Hove Albion and Bournemouth in their final two games of 2023.
