Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has spoken out after Destiny Udogie signed a new contract this week.
Spurs fans are overjoyed with how the season has unfolded so far. Tottenham are finally a fun team to watch thanks to Postecoglou‘s thorough transformation of the club. Udogie, a young youngster, has been one of their most dynamic players.
Ange Postecoglou responds when Destiny Udogie signed a new deal with Tottenham.
Last year, Tottenham signed Destiny Udogie from Udinese for a sum of just £15 million (Sky Sports).
The Italian spent the entire season with his former club, but after seeing him in pre-season, Ange Postecoglou made Udogie his first-choice left-back.
This season, the 21-year-old has been outstanding. His offensive runs have caused numerous issues for the opponents, and he is improving every week.
Tottenham paid attention to his efforts and rewarded him with a new deal this week. Postecoglou expressed his delight at the news.
According to Football London, he stated, “Obviously, I’m very pleased with Destiny signing.” This is the first stage of our attempt to establish something, and the core of the group is relatively young and unfamiliar with the Premier League.
“It’s fantastic to have him commit to the club for the long haul.” It’s something we want to work on in the future years and ideally maintain the core of this group together to create something amazing.”
Tottenham is delighted that Udogie’s future has been secured.
Even if Daniel Levy is a tough negotiator, not having a strong position with a player’s contract usually puts your side in a difficult situation.
Destiny Udogie‘s contract was not about to expire, but having only a few years left on it is far riskier than having his future assured until 2030.
Many large teams would have tried to entice Udogie away from Spurs in the following years, and many still might. Tottenham, on the other hand, are in a very strong position as a result of his new contract.
Udogie is anticipated to start for Postecoglou’s team against Nottingham Forest this evening. If he plays well, the Spurs should be able to win.
