Luka Vuskovic was sighted at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after completing his deal.
On Saturday, Luka Vuskovic was at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to watch Tottenham overcome Everton 2-1. The outstanding 16-year-old defender was signed from Hajduk Split in September in a £12 million deal, but it will be some time before he is in London on a regular basis.
Due to FIFA rules, Vuskovic, who stands 6ft 4ins, will have to wait till he is 18 years old to come to England. At the moment, the defender is still with Hajduk, and he will aim to complete his development in his home country before joining Spurs.
Because the Croatian league is now on break for the winter, Vuskovic took advantage of the opportunity to watch Tottenham Hotspur play Everton in the Premier League. Vuskovic could be seen in the stands gazing at the ground as the players went on their pre-match stroll on Instagram Stories before of the match.
He returned to Instagram after the game to post a video of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium‘s full-time celebrations following the team’s hard-fought 2-1 triumph over the Toffees.
Vuskovic will have been impressed by what he saw from Tottenham, who played some pretty excellent football at times to cause Everton issues. The Lilywhites took the lead early on through Richarlison before Son Heung-min made it two nine minutes later, and they held on despite some sustained pressure from the visitors after Andre Gomes reduced the gap.
Vuskovic, of course, will keep an eye on events at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until his arrival in England in 2025. For the time being, his objective will be to advance as a player at Hajduk Split before leaving Croatia.
Despite making 11 appearances for Hajduk last season and becoming the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer with a goal in their cup quarter-final against NK Osijek, the Split-born player is yet to make an appearance in the first squad this season. He has, however, made the matchday squad six times.
Despite his lack of playing time in Mislav Karoglan‘s side, Vuskovic recently earned some UEFA Euro Under-19 Championship qualifiers under his belt. He also played consistently for Hajduk’s Under-19 squad in 2023/24, demonstrating that he has a keen eye for goal and is the ideal Postecoglou defender.
In November, he scored twice in a 5-2 win over HNK Sibenik, and later that month, he assisted forward Lovre Loncar in a 2-1 win away at Rijeka. In their defeat to NK Mladost a month ago, he demonstrated his ability to get on the ball, push up from the back and test the custodian.
After seeing Tottenham play Everton on Saturday, Luka Vuskovic will be counting down the days until he can step to the pitch and make his senior debut for the club.
